Dear IC Families,

Our Annual Family BBQ hosted by our Knights of Columbus was a huge success. We all had fun enjoying the food, families and games. Our IC Spirit Squad was a treat to watch and everyone had a great time. One of IC’s strengths is the sense of family and community. We are blessed to have many opportunities throughout the school year to gather together. The Festival of the Foothills is around the corner and we have our Monster’s Ball on October 28.  Invite your friends and family so they can be part of the fun. See flyer for more info.

As you prepare for our Halloween festivities, please keep in mind that costumes must be positive and family friendly. Absolutely no costumes promoting violence or clown costumes are allowed. Students will be sent home if these guidelines are not followed.  Costumes have to be positive and fun.  Absolutely no blood, masks or props. In order to continue this fun tradition at our school, it is important that all participants cooperate.

This Wednesday, Oct. 12, we had scheduled a Family Math Night. We are postponing it for now. We will let you know when it is rescheduled.

Next Thursday, Oct. 20, our students are going on field trips. It is not optional. We have chosen places where students will have an opportunity to incorporate classroom learning into the real world. Our younger students  (TK-2) are going to Kidspace and grades 3-8 will be going to the California Science Center.  Even if students have been there before, the exhibits are always changing and focusing on new topics.

The Festival of the Foothills is a huge IC community event. Please supports by selling your raffle tickets, buying presale festival ride tickets and the t-shirt.  Turn in your raffle tickets to the school office to get credit.  Save money & buy the reduced ride tickets. Have you signed up to volunteer? Each family is required to sign up for a minimum of 5 hours. Help is needed on Thursday for set-up, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the festival and on Monday for cleanup. You can earn up to a maximum of 10 hours volunteering for this event.

Please drop off all your donations for the Second Hand Treasures rummage sale by this Friday, Oct 21.  We need help this Thursday with sorting and pricing.

This Saturday morning volunteers are needed to stuff bulletins. I will let you know the time if you are interested to help. Jr. High can help and earn their service hours.

On Sunday, Oct. 16, before and after the monthly family mass parents are needed to help at festival booth outside of church. Please go over and offer a hand. Jr. High can help too. All students are reminded to wear their uniforms to the 10:00AM Family Mass to wear free dress on Monday.

The Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast is this Sunday. It’s delicious and money goes towards our 8th grade scholarships. Please support the K of C and thank them for our providing the food and cooking for our BBQ.  Jr. High can earn hours by helping.

We collected 50% our goal last time. Let’s get to 100% this week!  We will have a special free dress event this Friday, October 14, if you provide one of the following festival food items.
