Student Learning Expectations – Elementary School
What students should know, understand and be able to do by graduation:
A Faith-Filled Active Catholic who:
talks to God
learn about the life of Jesus
helps by doing good deeds
makes good choices and is nice to everyone
An Academically Prepared Person who:
puts forth good effort in everything
works well alone and with others
thinks before making choices
uses computers for making learning fun
Effective Communicators who:
can speak well in front of others
uses complete sentences and good grammar when speaking and writing
uses computers and the internet for learning
Critical Thinkers who:
understands information learned
thinks before doing something
practices what is learned
A Responsible Citizen of Global Awareness who:
follows and respects rules
gets to know one another
cares for all God’s creation
helps others in the community
treats everyone fairly – Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

What students should know, understand and be able to do by graduation:
A Faith-Filled Active Catholic who:
develops a personal relationship with God
has knowledge and appreciation of the Catholic faith doctrine and tradition
demonstrates a spirit of service in church, family, school and community
exhibits strong Christ-like values, makes morally responsible decisions, and
speaks to Jesus in prayer
An Academically Prepared Person who:
meets or exceeds standards in all curricular areas
demonstrates the confidence to learn independently and ability to work cooperatively to reach goal
applies critical thinking and problem solving to everyday life situations
utilizes technology and acquired skills to facilitate life-long learning
Effective Communicators who:
can speak confidently, articulate ideas clearly and creatively through various modalities
utilize a strong foundation in language to enhance both written and oral expression
utilize technology, including internet, to expand skills while learning to use world-wide resources
Critical Thinkers who:
identify, evaluate, organize and synthesize information
apply critical thinking and problem solving to everyday life
utilize learned skills and synthesize information in everyday life
